Childhood and Early Life
Dr. Michael Lehman was born on September 3, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to Dr. Joe and Sylvia Moss Lehman. He grew up in Lubbock with his sisters, Mickey and Rene. After graduating from Monterey High School, he attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a degree in pharmacy. He then transferred to Texas Tech University Health Science College, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Lehman completed his dermatology residency at the University of Arkansas before returning to Lubbock to start his practice.
A Passion for Medicine
Dr. Lehman's passion for medicine was evident from the beginning of his career. He joined his father and uncle at Lehman Dermatology Clinic, where he served the Lubbock community for over three decades. He was board-certified in both Texas and Oklahoma and specialized in general and cosmetic dermatology, as well as laser surgery. Dr. Lehman was a member of several medical associations, including the Lubbock-Crosby-Garza County Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the Texas Dermatology Society.

A Life Well-Lived
Dr. Lehman was a man of many interests outside of his practice. He served in the national guard in Fort Ord, California, and was associated with Covenant Hospital, Lubbock Heart and Surgical Hospital, and the Burkhart Center for Autism. Dr. Lehman loved playing golf, and stories of his antics on the golf course were fondly retold among his fellow golfers. He was also known in his neighborhood as the cigar-smoking, leaf-blowing, lawnmower-riding DIY yard guy.
Remembering Dr. Michael Lehman
Dr. Lehman was a devoted husband to his wife, Evelyn, whom he met while completing his residency in Little Rock, Arkansas. They were married for 32 years and were a fixture in the Lubbock community. Dr. Lehman is survived by his wife Evelyn, his sisters Mickey Lehman Gross and Rene' Lehman, his niece Shana Lehman Fishman and her husband Jason, along with his great-nieces Madison and Mallory, whom he adored. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, patients, and colleagues.

Celebration of Life
Dr. Lehman's life will be celebrated at a service on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Kent Hance Chapel, followed by a reception at the Market Alumni Center on the Texas Tech University Campus. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dr. Lehman's honor may be sent to any charities of your choice.
